After Dovetail Games cut its teeth in UE4 with Euro Fishing, we began working on the next-gen successor to Train Simulator, Train Sim World. Over the course of about a year I began setting up core audio systems and implementing audio for the first locomotives and environments.
This was a huge responsibility for a Junior Audio Designer, but I was thrilled to be given the opportunity and began laying the groundwork for what was and now is the future of the franchise.
There was a real focus on ensuring that what we were developing would allow us to continue to develop and introduce new content, much like its predecessor. This presented some great challenges, especially seeing as UE4 was still not particularly feature complete, especially the audio systems.
